Owner Leonardo Capezzuto opened Casanova Restaurant in February of
2011, with a vision of creating Lexington's finest Italian dining
experience. Leonardo is well known to the community of Lexington being
the Owner of Leonardo's Cafe', an already renowned downtown restaurant.
Leonardo was born in Naples, Italy, raised in a classic Italian,
large family made of 11 siblings, where he grew up eating only authentic
and fresh food straight from his mother's kitchen. Growing up, Leonardo
was always the most excited when it came dinner-time, but, most
importantly, the most excited to learn how to cook. Soon after high
school, Leonardo was already in charge of managing three Coffee Shop,
which belonged to the family, in the time spent managing the Coffee
Shops, Leonardo quickly learned how to connect with customer and how to
make them feel like at home. He also started his culinary career by
creating his own specialty paninis and side dishes, with great success.
Leonardo moved to Lexington Kentucky in 1998, along with only part of
his large family, but also along with his mother, Angela, the person
that taught Leonardo how to cook and how to come up with his delicious
and authentic dishes. Leonardo's brother, Giovanni Capezzuto, former
chef at Bella Notte and current Owner of the company, Sapore D'Italia.
Now Leonardo lives here permanently, with 4 of his sisters and 1 one
his brothers, with the remainder of the family still living in Naples,
Italy, whom they often come to visit. He still maintains the family
tradition by cooking fresh dishes, just like Angela taught him.
